Waynesboro Cemetery Gate Project
May 13 – 17, 2019
The Waynesboro Old Community Cemetery lost it’s original gate many years ago. It was replaced with a more contemporary fabricated gate that is now badly damaged and in need of replacement. The Waynesboro Archives found photographic evidence of how the original gates appeared and the pictured drawing reflects that design. This class will faithfully recreate these historic gates for the cemetery. The class will take the project from layout, to processing the various elements, to traditional joinery and assembly, including necessary hardware such as hinges, cane bolts and a latch. If you are ready to take the next step as a blacksmith and graduate from j-hooks and bottle openers to real world architectural ornamental work, this is your class. From beginning to end, you will be guided through all the aspects to create this project in a professional manner and quality. Don’t miss this chance to take your skill set to the next level.
