November 11 – 16, 2023: Blacksmithing: Handles and Guards

Scott McGhee of Guinea Hog Forge, our own ABS Master Smith, will be teaching this intermediate level knifemaking workshop. This is not an ABS sponsored class. The class will start with forging a hidden tang knife blank and take the student through all the steps to accomplish a guard and handle to fit. The goal is for the student to leave with a completed knife and the knowledge and experience to replicate the process on their own. A student should have experience with making knives already before taking this class. The school will have tools available for students to use, but each student should consider putting a set of tools together for themselves as this will be essential before they can make this style of knife on their own. Contact us for the recommended set of tools.

This is not an ABS class
