November 8 – 11, 2021: Blacksmithing: Kitchen Cleaver Knife Class
This is a during the week evening class for beginning knife makers. No experience is necessary. Students will build from scratch a complete knife in four three hour sessions from 6 PM till 9 PM Monday through Thursday. Shop orientation and safety, proper fire management and hammering techniques will be covered the first evening. The knife blank will be forged, shaped, rough ground, and hardened by the second evening. Blue backing, finish grinding, and sharpening will be covered on the third evening. The last evening will cover forming the handle, final assembly and finish. The goal is for each student to leave with a completed knife.
This is not an ABS class.
Class includes safe shop practices, fire management, efficient hammer techniques and basic forging. All safety equipment and materials provided.

Tuition $249 for the four day, twelve hour course.
Please Note: This course is only open to students 18 years +. No minors will be allowed to participate in the course. IDs may be required for our younger looking participants.
