August 9, 2018: Blacksmithing: Intro to Blacksmithing – Camp Fork

This 2.5 hour introductory course will take a novice smith through the steps to make their own campfire fork. This could be used for marshmallows, hotdogs, or anything else you would want to heat over a campfire.

This class is intended for those who want to try blacksmithing but aren’t sure if the weekend class is appropriate. We encourage our young smiths (10-12 y.o.) to start here to get a taste for the craft. This class is available to anyone 10+ years old. Any smith younger than 18 y.o. needs to have a responsible adult on site for the duration of the course.


This is a 2.5 hour class.

We will being promptly at 9am. Please arrive 10 minutes early to sign liability forms and get acquainted with the shop. This class will NOT cover fire management. The forges will be lit prior to arrival.

All safety equipment and materials provided.

Tuition: $50 for the course

Please Note:   A parent, guardian or responsible adult must be on site for students under 18 years of age for the duration of the class.  Adults accompanying minors do not have to take the class, but they are welcome to if they wish.
